It’s been quite an incredible journey for Madonna from her early years performing as a relatively unknown artist at the legendary NYC Paradise Garage nightclub in the early 1980s to becoming a global superstar with a phenomenally successful pop career spanning over almost 30 years. Recently the Queen of pop music announced that she was going to record a new album, however the focus in this particular article is on her unrelenting, persistent attitude towards her film career.
No one can take away what Madonna has achieved as a recording artist. She has moved with the times and has had an intuitive sixth sense to work with the “producers of the moment,” making her business model practically flawless. Her controversial actions have also kept people talking: her video with a black Jesus Christ and even her artist name “Madonna” being sacred in the Catholic religion. All of these ingredients have given her a longer running career than Elvis, The Rolling Stones and the Godfather of soul, James Brown. But conversely, her attempts to break into Hollywood as a critically acclaimed actress have not generated the same respect and attraction as her music.
Whether one likes her or not, one ought to respect her persistent mental attitude towards creating her goals and being prepared to change her strategy, if necessary, in order to achieve them. Although her acting career has not blossomed, she has decided to channel her energies into directing. Her new film, which is based on King Edward VIII’s romance with American divorcee Wallis Simpson, will be showing at the Venice Film Festival. This is, of course, a huge breakthrough which can build momentum and start to open more doors for her in the magical world of cinema. The film runs from 31st August to 10th September 2011 and is already getting industry people talking.
This story shows how the power of perseverance coupled with an excellent work ethic, can produce amazing results. If you never give up or allow critics to crush your dreams of creating, you too, can begin to develop an attitude of success. And you can start right now. The people who win in life know what they want and NEVER compromise on their heart’s desire. Dream big!
